Oleksandr Yukhymovych is a talented musician and composer from Kyiv, Ukraine. He is known for his creative work in classical music and has produced three operas that showcase his innovative storytelling and emotional depth. Oleksandr reached the finals in the Music Award Maastricht and has participated in numerous international music competitions

Right now, Oleksandr is studying for his second master’s degree in viola at the Conservatorium Maastricht with Julia Dinerstein. This year, he is preparing for his final recital at the conservatory, which is an important event in his career. He is also busy working on various musical projects.

From an early age, Oleksandr was deeply involved with the violin and piano, developing a love for composing and conducting. He began his education at the Chamberzhi Kyiv Children Academy of Arts in 2018, where he honed his skills. Oleksandr graduated with honours in viola from Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music in 2022, then continued at the Conservatorium Maastricht with professor Michael Kugel, graduating cum laude in 2023. In 2024, he completed a master’s degree in composition cum laude with Evgen Stankovych at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

Over the years, Oleksandr has worked with many respected groups and well-known conductors and musicians. He participated in the Pärnu Music Festival and Järvi Academy, working with conductors like Neeme and Paavo Järvi and musicians such as Yuzuko Horigome. Oleksandr’s music combines classical and modern styles, and his compositions are performed by talented musicians, showcasing his skills with string instruments.
